Description
The Type VI print head is Ricoh's 1200 dpi dual print head module used in the print unit of the Ricoh Pro VC60000 continuous feed inkjet printer. Each module combines an assembly of two MH5220, 600 dpi stainless-steel heads, offset by half a dot pitch and built around Ricoh's proprietary bi-pitch laminated piezo actuator, so the module prints at a true 1200 dpi in a single pass. This gives precise, stable ink discharge control even with high-viscosity pigment inks, and reduces the image unevenness that occurs at the joints in a conventional line-head arrangement, so images stay consistent across the full print width.
In the Pro VC60000, ten of these 1200 dpi modules are arranged in a staggered line per color to print sheets up to 20.5 inches wide. Genuine Type VI print heads (part number M138) are matched to the VC60000's undercoating, printing, protector coating and drying stages, and are the recommended replacement part to maintain Ricoh's rated print quality and reliability.
